NHS Mental Health Helpline

You can call for:

  • 24-hour advice and support – for you, your child, your parent or someone you care for
  • help to speak to a mental health professional
  • an assessment to help decide on the best course of care

Providing emotional support to people in the moment, if you need to speak with someone immediately.

Help is available on the phone, by email, through writing a letter and a self help app is also available.

Shout 85258

Shout 85258 offers immediate de-escalation support to anyone experiencing mental distress, anywhere, at any time through texting. They focus on taking people who are struggling to cope to a place of calm.

Support available 24/7.
