Please be aware that I am able to offer counselling by appointment only and unfortunately I'm unable to offer you immediate help.

If you are feeling very unsafe or unwell please go to your local accident and emergency department or call 999.

If you feel that you are in crisis and need immediate assistance please see some organisations here that may be able to offer you support.

NHS Mental Health Helpline

You can call for:

  • 24-hour advice and support – for you, your child, your parent or someone you care for
  • help to speak to a mental health professional
  • an assessment to help decide on the best course of care

Samaritans

"Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. We're here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year."

Providing emotional support to people in the moment, if you need to speak with someone immediately.

Help is available on the phone, by email, through writing a letter and a self help app is also available.

Shout 85258

Shout 85258 offers immediate de-escalation support to anyone experiencing mental distress, anywhere, at any time through texting. They focus on taking people who are struggling to cope to a place of calm.

Support available 24/7.

SANEline

"SANEline is a national out-of-hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support, guidance and information to anyone affected by mental illness, including family, friends and carers. We are open every day of the year from 4.30pm to 10.30pm"

Knowing that your counselling sessions are private and that everything discussed is kept confidential can play an important role in how safe and held you feel in therapy. This in turn can impact what you feel able to share and explore with your therapist, and ultimately how much your time in counselling meets your needs.
